Rocket Robotics, based at East Middle School in Plymouth, MI, aims to learn, design, and build competitive robots while expanding STEM opportunities in our community through organized outreach, mentoring, and collaboration with other teams. . Our whole team lives by the motto: "Alone we can do so little, together we can shoot for the stars!" . The values that bring our members together; collaboration, sustainability, innovation, and Gracious Professionalism guide everything we do as we work together toward a common goal. By being Gracious Professionals and learning from our high school mentors and visiting industries, we make sure we keep growing, sharing our knowledge, and making our robotics community stronger every year !
Our build and design choices were focused on reliability, performance, and teamwork on the field. Our lift works really well with other robots, which helps us score the most points. Our LED lights are one of our most unique ideas because they tell us exactly when the shooter is ready, so we don’t waste time guessing. The feeders help line up the artifacts so the shooter can fire at the right moment, and our custom PID control keeps the shooter at the perfect speed. In programming, we added an AI camera to detect AprilTags, made auton modes that score consistently, and created driver-assist features that help us line up faster. Throughout the whole engineering process, we kept testing, fixing, and improving everything so our robot is reliable and ready for competition.
